カリスマ性よりも大事な「いいリーダーの条件」とは : ライフハッカー［日本版］

リーダーというのは、単純に管理能力がある人や教育者というより、魅力で人を惹き付けている人のように考える人も多いでしょう。しかしジョン・ホルト氏は、それとは異なるリーダーに関する多くの重要な能力を挙げています。将来いいリーダーになりたいと思っているなら、これらの能力を身につけて、高めておいた方がいいでしょう。

しかし、ほとんどの人はリーダーになるよりも、いいリーダーに付いて行きたいと思うのではないでしょうか。就職（もしくは求職）活動をしている時は、志望している会社にいいリーダーを求めます。その会社に勤めた時のことを考えると、どんな人が会社を率いているのかを見るのも大事です。忍耐強くて、勇気があって、決断力のあるリーダーと、いわゆるカリスマタイプのリーダー、あなたはどちらがいいと思いますか？

リーダーシップとは、人々を魅了して自分に付いて来させる能力ではありません。そういう能力のあるリーダーもいますが、その能力はなくてもいいのです。それより少なくとも、勇気があり、根気があり、忍耐強く、ユーモアがあり、柔軟で、機知に富んでおり、決断力があり、現実感覚が鋭く、どんなに悪い状況でも常に冷静明晰な頭脳でいられる能力のある人のことです。いわゆる「カリスマ」とは対極にある人です。
