“議会でも会社でも、自分たちの論理を押し付ける際に、必ず持ち出すのが、
「和を以て貴しとなす」である。彼らはこの「和を以て貴しと為す」を自分で都合よく解釈し、その誤った解釈を押し付け、我執のために、悪用しているのである。（そうして出来たのが談合組織であろう）
聞く側、受身側は、これまた長年の誤解で、「和を以て貴しと為す」を大義名分にされると、不承不承ながら承服してしまう。
日本では政治・議会・企業はもとより、隣近所、親戚家族兄弟に至るまで、議論そのものを「もめごと」と看做す。そして議論しないことが美徳とされる。
また、「もめごと」に対しては必ず、時の氏神が現れ「喧嘩両成敗」とわけのわからん大義名分をいい、「まあまあ、仲良くしなさい」といって黒でも白でもない灰色にして両者を引き分けてしまう。結果、結論をあいまいにして、というより、結局は強い側の有利に終わらせてしまう。
