“NIKE+ FuelBandでは、新しい活動量の単位であるNikeFuelを使って、毎日のすべての運動のデータを記録することができます。
独自の活動量を表す単位であるNikeFuelは、NIKE+ FuelBandを装着したモニターたちの、デヴァイスに内蔵される３軸の加速度センサーが計測したデータと酸素消費量との相関性をもとに、ナイキが独自に作成したアルゴリズムによって数値化されるという。
バッテリーチャージも通常の使用なら４日間はもつ設計になっていますので、毎日寝ている間もずっと着けていられます。さらに内蔵しているUSB、またはBluetooth経由で無料のiPhoneアプリを使用しNike+ウエブサイトにつないで毎日の活動を記録することも、それをFacebookやTwitterなどのSNSで家族や仲間とシェアすることもできます。
NikeFuelの数値は世界中のアスリートや仲間などとも共有できるため、誰もが世界の一流アスリートと同日のNikeFuelのポイントを競うことだって可能になる。”
