「世界に冠たる快挙」なのに予算は減額？　

　宇宙航空研究開発機構の小惑星探査機「はやぶさ」の帰還に、菅内閣からは１４日、冒頭の仙谷官房長官の発言をはじめ絶賛が相次いだが、科学技術予算を削り込んできた民主党政権の“現金さ”にあきれる声も出ている。

　菅首相は同機構の川口淳一郎教授に電話し、「日本の技術水準の高さを世界に強くアピールした」と称賛。宇宙開発担当の前原国土交通相も「宇宙開発史に画期的な一ページを加えた」との談話を発表した。

　しかし、後継機の開発費は、麻生政権の２０１０年度予算概算要求時の１７億円が、鳩山政権の概算要求やり直しで５０００万円に、さらに「事業仕分け」を経て３０００万円まで削られた経緯がある。福山哲郎官房副長官は記者会見でこの点を問われ、「今回の成功を受け、１１年度予算は検討したい」と述べた。
